Description

Add seasonal charm to your home with the Chrysanthemum Tenugui Hand Towel. The chrysanthemum, a symbol of longevity and elegance in Japan, is arranged in bold patterns and cheerful colors that brighten everyday life. Its simple design makes it a lovely accent for the kitchen, dining table, or as a thoughtful gift.

Each towel is hand-dyed by artisans using the traditional Chusen technique, where dyes are infused into the cotton so the pattern shows on both sides. This method creates subtle variations that reflect the individuality of handmade work. Made from lightweight yet durable Chita cotton, the fabric is soft, absorbent, and quick-drying, ideal for daily use.

Versatile and practical, the Chrysanthemum Tenugui can serve as a hand towel, table runner, or eco-friendly wrap for bento boxes and small gifts. Part of a colorful tenugui collection, it brings cultural beauty and timeless charm to your everyday routine.

Please Note: Pre-washing traditional Japanese hand towels (tenugui) is essential to prevent color bleeding and soften the fabric. To care for your tenugui, hand-wash it in cold water without detergent, rinsing it multiple times if necessary. After washing, air-dry the tenugui in the shade to preserve its vibrant colors. It is also recommended to store the tenugui away from direct sunlight to prevent discoloration. Following these steps will help maintain its beauty and durability over time.

FAQ

Can I add a gift message to my order?

Yes. You may add a personalized gift message of up to 250 characters at checkout — it is printed on a card and included inside the package. Prices and order details are never shown on the card or anywhere in the shipment, so the recipient sees only your message and the gift itself.

Will my order be wrapped as a gift?

Yes. Every JOC Goods order is wrapped in a traditional Japanese furoshiki cloth before shipping at no extra charge — both gifts and personal orders. If your order includes many or large items, the furoshiki may be packed inside the box rather than wrapped around them. Prices are never included in any shipment.
